Our FIRST plush toy concept: The Nokogiri Dog, a canine/buzzsaw Mecha-Fauna, and the Mascot of our Studio.

Here is our first plush toy concept for The MARUNOKO Project. The designs were lovingly made by Maulwurf Studio, who founded the Project. She wanted this mecha-fauna to be intimidating but cuddly at the same time, so she combined the element of a buzzsaw head with the body of a fuzzy grey dog. She also stated that these machines have often have quirky personalities, much like other species of mecha-fauna on their home planet. She decided to call this species the Nokogiri Dog, as it sounds almost otherworldly, yet almost terrestrial at the same time.

Here are some images that Maulwurf Studio has taken during the early stages of this project.

Maulwurf Studio's finished reference is riddled with notes, from corner to corner.

Here is a "real life" version of the chosen "breed" of the Nokogiri Dog. Nokogiri Dogs come in a variety of breeds based on saw brands. Our mascot is a Hitachi, so he will have grey fur, black spots, and green eyes, according to Maulwurf Studio.

Maulwurf Studio's prototype of the Nokogiri Dog plush toy. It is sewn with different colored fleece to indicate which part is which. A cardboard saw is glued on to represent the size of the head before 3D printing.
